We are increasingly convinced that a "one size fits all" approach doesn't work, so in 2017 we changed our small group activities to allow for greater variety and flexibility. We call our new groups City Groups.
If you'd like to know more about the reasoning behind the change, those resources can be found here.
WHAT IS A CITY GROUP?
A City Group is a group of around 12 people with a leader(s) who commit to meet together on a regular basis around a shared purpose or activity. The groups meet for a 10 week term, then come to an end.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN A CITY GROUP?
We would encourage everyone to subscribe to (at least) one City Group each term. They are a great tool to help us grow as a family of disciples on mission together – we will get to know new people and encourage each other in our faith, as we study the Bible or exercise or create or serve etc.
Many City Groups are also a great way to introduce friends who aren’t currently part of City Church to the church and to Christ. They do not need to sign up to the City Group, but it would be helpful to give the leader a heads-up that you’re inviting them.
Some groups are open to under 18s as indicated on the group’s description.
WHAT IF THERE ISN’T A GROUP THIS TERM DOING MY FAVOURITE THING?
Consider where you could best serve others, or is there a group that one of your neighbours or work colleagues would enjoy attending with you? Step out and try something new! And why not volunteer to run a City Group next term or suggest a group that could run?
