Studying in Cambridge?
We think church is a family,
and we enjoy the variety all our different students bring.
students seem to like belonging, too – why not come along and find out yourself?
Church is more than just Sunday meetings – but they're a good place to start – come along with friends from your university/college CU church breakfasts, or make your own way – we hope you’ll feel welcome – 9.15am for 9.30am, or 11am for 11.30am on Sundays.
Our anchor point for connecting is our weekly smorgasbord-like Student Lunch – a chance for eating together, for getting to know other students (at other stages, other colleges) and some non-students – ‘outside the bubble’, as students with us often call it! Eat, be encouraged, be challenged, pray! – 1.15pm on Sundays.
We’re excited that so many students get involved with (& even get to run!) our various City Groups, or engage in different ways of serving our family and the community around us in our Citykids and Youth work, in worship, in practical community action. We don’t make them join in – but, by belonging and connecting, it’s easy to find out how to.
We hope you'll enjoy your time at Cambridge, and we'll be glad to meet you soon,
Tim, Isla & the students@city team
Quotes from our students
“For so many reasons, City Church feels like home. I feel known, accepted and loved by people, and feel comfortable to be messy and broken, as well as to be joyful and celebrate personal breakthroughs. Yet, most importantly, hearing about and seeing the integrity with which people follow and worship Jesus in all kinds of situations, in both conversations and wider meetings, has instilled in me a desire to pursue and know God more intimately as an individual in my day to day, to grapple with His word, persevere in prayer and depend on the Holy Spirit.”
(Architecture undergrad, Pembroke)
“The student team get to know each of us well and support us in the ups and downs of studying in Cambridge. God’s Word encourages us to meet over meals together, and the weekly student lunch, at which we do just that, is always a highlight of my week!”
(Classics undergrad, Jesus)
