It’s time for mission! So far this year our Sunday teaching has focused on discipleship and family. From August to November we will be focusing on mission.
We have a toolkit of words, works and wonders to use in sharing the gospel. We’re going to start by focusing on works: living in a way that’s different to those around us and gives us opportunities to talk about Jesus.
Ever since the beginning, God has desired to create reflections of His image, living artworks everywhere that reflect His glory. We’re going to look at the Law given to Old Testament Israel, which gives us a really practical and tangible way of understanding what that looked like in the nitty-gritty detail of life for a particular group of people. As we consider how God called Israel to be holy because He is holy, we’ll discover principles for how the people of God today should live in a way that will demonstrate the gospel to others.
“You are the light of the world. …let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16 NIV)
