Sundays

what to expect

WHAT: A GATHERING OF THE WHOLE CHURCH
WHERE: BRICKFIELDS, CB5 8LD
WHEN: 9:30am AND 11:30AM (AUGUST 10:30am only)
WHO: ALL WELCOME

“They spent their time in learning from the apostles, taking part in the fellowship,
and sharing in the fellowship meals and the prayers.”
Acts 2:42

In all that we do, we try to follow in the footsteps of the first Christians who were committed to learning more about Jesus and sharing his message of forgiveness and salvation.

Every service will be slightly different but the ingredients are the same, week in, week out.

Singing

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
    Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs
Psalm 100: 1-2

In every culture, music and singing is used to celebrate and express happiness and jubilation. Accompanied by drums, guitar and keyboards, we sing because we want to celebrate the good news of Jesus. 30 mins approx.

Learning together

We are committed to reading and understanding the Bible together. We listen to a talk that unpacks the words of the Bible in order help us follow Jesus and apply his message to our lives. 35 mins approx.

TALKS

Communion

And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying,
“This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying,
“This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Luke 22:19-20

Jesus taught us to remember his death by eating bread and drinking wine, representing his body and blood. We call this simple meal communion. Every Sunday we eat this meal as we remember Jesus’ death and resurrection and look forward to the day he returns.

Socialising

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up…
1 Thessalonians 5:11

At the end of each service, we drink tea or coffee and eat biscuits. This is an important part of belonging to a church community. We look out for each other and make new friends.

Please don’t feel the need to rush off at the end - we would like to get to know you.
