Growth-Groups

growth groups

And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts,

growth groups

Growth Groups are the heartbeat of City Church. They are smallish groups (8-15) of people meeting in homes across Cambridge and the surrounding area, simply committed to doing life together and sharing the good news of Jesus with those around them. Growth Groups are the best way to connect into City Church and get to know people better.

Learning

Growth Groups are a place where we learn together what it means to follow Jesus in our everyday lives; how we do family, friendships, work life, leisure, etc. This sometimes includes unpacking what we’ve heard on Sundays and encouraging each other to dig deeper into the Bible to discover and apply more of its life-changing truth.

Integration

We want new people to feel at home at City. What better way to do that than to meet in each other’s homes, to share food and enjoy life together. Growth Groups sometimes serve together for church events which is a great way to get to know each other better.

Friendship

We want to cultivate real relationships where we care for and rely on each other. Growth Groups are committed to looking out for each other, praying for each other and helping practically where we can.

Evangelism

‘Evangelism’ simply means the announcement of good news; that Jesus came to show us what God is like and make a way for us to know him personally. Growth Groups are a place where people can explore what this means for them wherever they are on their spiritual journey.

Clusters

Growth Groups are grouped together in Clusters. Each Cluster has a leader who provides support, encouragement, coaching and pastoral care for those who lead the Growth Groups in their Cluster. Clusters will often meet together (in groups of 30-50 people) for mid-sized meetings or social events. These are an excellent opportunity to get to know more people in a meaningful way and benefit from one another's gifts of teaching, leadership, serving, words of knowledge, etc.
